All Children are Self-Centered (And That's Okay!)

Dear Parents,

All children are self-centered, and our traumatized kids take blue ribbons for it. I thought I would remind you that, developmentally, all kids are self-focused on their way to becoming caring adults.

It will be okay.

When children heal from the original trauma and leave that fierce place of constant survival mode, they will grow more capable of caring about others as much as themselves. That is how it works.

Expect it a little later down the road. It's coming.
