You Are Mad At Me?

Dear Parent,

It never ceases to amaze me when my child becomes angry and oppositional after he loses a privilege for seriously breaking family rules. How crazy making is that to be mad at me, the parent, because he did that.

My job and yours is to be consoling and soothing in the face of reactivity.  Always.
