Wrong Side Of The Bed

Dear Parent,

When your child wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, you can be a day changer.  Hot cocoa with marshmallows, pink milk, green eggs, something cheesy are often elixirs for the poor of waking up.

Rule of thumb:  Go gently. Ponder your bad days and how you would like to be treated. Offer help. Forgive the grumbling, the forgetfulness, the bumbling, and occasional yelling. Keep your voice even, kind, and empathic. When there is a stuck spot, reassure that everything is going to be okay.
