Feelings and Thoughts
Aug 26, 2020
Dear Parents,
FEELINGS and THOUGHTS are not FACTS.
Keep that in the foreground when your FEELINGS about your child's behavior have your THOUGHTS creating a grim future.
Or vice versa, when your THOUGHTS about your child's behavior have you FEELING the future is grim.
He's going to hurt someone...
She is going to get herself into trouble...
He's going to jail eventually...
She's never going to be able to work...
Life is going to be impossible for him...
Everywhere she goes she will leave a trail of tears...
Who will ever love him like this...
She will never have a normal life...
I am so scared for him...
Repeat after me: Feelings and thoughts are NOT facts.
Everything you do influences and impacts your child's trajectory. Give your child the benefit of hopes and dreams, over fearful feelings and dreadful thoughts.
Love matters,
Ce
