The designation of November as National Adoption Month intends to bring attention to the need for adoptive families for children and teens in the U.S. foster care system. Many of you know the struggle of children in the U.S. fost/adopt pipeline and if you are an adoptive parent you know the challenge post-adoption to get support better than anyone.
Here are some things you can do to heighten the awareness of others:
- Offer respite to a family with children from difficult beginnings.
- Talk about adoption in social settings.
- Start an adoption support group in your town/city.
- You can sign-up to be interviewed on the UnMuted Love with Ce Eshelman podcast about your experience as an adoptive parent.
