Here Comes The Proof

Jul 17, 2023

Dear Parent,

Many times I see parents look askance at me when I tell them that their child's brain is different.  I interpret the look to mean, "I don't believe you."  So often attachment challenged children's behaviors seem intentional, calculated, deceitful, and heartless.

We have mountains of evidence-based research now to show the impact of trauma, malnutrition, neglect, and abuse on the brain.

If you know your child's behavior is likely psycho-neurological, then you may be better able to respond to your child's persistent negative behaviors with empathy and understanding corrections rather than disdain and escalated punishments.

It is beyond hard to parent attachment challenged children. With this knowledge, it is still hard.  Without it, nearly impossible.

Love matters,

Ce
